"HEADMASTER RITUAL"
Great news! SAT scores are way down. Huh. You know, I wonder, if I took it today (thirteen years after taking it for real), would I score higher or lower than I originally did? How did everyone else do? Does anyone remember their SAT score?
And, for more reasons why you're sure to be jealous of my very exciting day, I have kept an eye out my window all day as I've been typing, because a really hideous spider larger than a half-dollar has just been sitting there all day. Bleh. I let all creatures do their creature thing, but anything that can sneak up to me and sit on me without me necessarily knowing, well, it's a fucking problem. Bleh! I involuntarily abandon all emotional maturity when confronted with a spider. Bleh! Bleh! Bleh! Luckily the spider is outside the glass. Where s/he shall stay. My cat thinks s/he is fascinating, which only makes me squeak and fret. Bleh!

Do you realize you said you were looking out your widow? Normally, spiders and I are cool. The kill the bugs I can't stand. But that maleness in me is really disgusted with a creature that will mate and then kill the mate, and wrap it up for the babies (that the mate helped produce) to eat when they are young. Er go I have no sympathy for the widow spiders, and growing up in the southwest black widows are all over the place. So I got to a kill alot of them and I always felt good about it. Ants, I feel losey when I kill ants, but cockroaches, mosquitos and black widows, I kill them with glee and a song in my heart.
I have no issues with spiders, so I'm moving along to talk about the SAT...
I think it means we need a new standardized testing strategy. My SAT scores blew, but I got a great score on the ACT after only one attempt and my IQ score has hovered in the above average territory every time I've taken it. Plus, there has always been the debate about the cultural relevance of the SAT to many groups, which I for one agree on.
Meanwhile, the rainy day blahs finally took hold of me. I feel like I'm wrapped in a big woolly (or alpaca!) blanket, and I've been in my bed reading since 5pm...

I took the SAT over 20 years ago and still remember that I got a 1040. 580 on Math and 460 on English and I still majored in English! See, still good with numbers. I read Jeff Harrell's review and I'm now compelled to get your book.
