"A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT"

“Nature, which makes nothing durable, always repeats itself so that nothing which it makes may be lost.” Oscar Wilde

No real reason for that. I just came across it and enjoyed.

Through my unpacking and two editing projects this weekend, I got two movies in, too. One, Feeling Minnesota, was, well, not great. No Country For Old Men, on the other hand, I rather liked. I watched it on a bootleg copy from Hong Kong (don't ask), so I missed the credits, which I usually like to watch. Anyway, I hadn't watched a movie in a while, so it was a nice treat to watch two.

So close to being unpacked. So close to turning in two editing projects. Back to work.

I'm dying to know how you ended up watching a Hong Kong bootleg movie. Please tell us.

Ooookay, well, when I was in my early twenties, I met some other students in Paris and sneaked into an underground sort of opera performance, sitting in the back of the balcony. There was some joke made about wishing we had live feed of it anywhere in the world, which sparked one young man and his partner to action and they started recording all sorts of things and sending them to the rest of the group, despite the fact that the rest of this group was from New York, Oxford, someplace in Wales and Montreal. But, as years have gone by, we still get pirated things in the mail from them, no matter how many times any of us move, and no matter how many years have passed. And, weirdly, because it's performances, films and all sorts of shit, it never fails to be fairly on-target and almost serendipitous, for something we each wanted to see, or were just talking about or something like that.
