"AMBITIOUS OUTSIDERS"

Huh. Well, in the boredom I only slightly hinted at in my previous post, I have, of course, been trying to catch up on emails and therefore have been able to approve/deny any comments posted here on the blog this afternoon. A comment posted suggested I Technorati search myself, and a subsequent one hinted that I might be angry about a photograph. Huh? Well, let's see, I've never posed nude, so it couldn't be that. I'm so friggin' clumsy and such a goof that someone nearby is usually taking dorky photos of me, which I have come to expect, so I didn't think much of it.

But, curiosity got the better of me and I went to Technorati, did a search and lo and behold, I have been blogged! I find it more than a little bit weird that I didn't notice someone taking a photograph of me, and honestly, I find it a little freaky. But, to each her own, right? Anyway, I left her as diplomatic a response as I could, to which I got a terse but expected reply almost immediately. This blogger was a woman I met and talked to for a few minutes at a book fair when I was flyering.

The strangest thing of all, though, is that I have actually been to her blog before! In a later post, she mentions two people I know and when that was going on, they both urged me to visit her site to see the things she had written about them. I read it and blew it off, never thinking to scroll down.

Well, what can I say? Weird. I'm not really into Google-searching (or, Technorati-searching, for that matter) myself, but maybe I should start.

I wish you guys could see the look on my face right now. It's somewhere between a question mark and the start of a laugh. This is so weird that I honestly don't even know what to think. Maybe I should have given it a day or two to chill before I wrote to her, but see what you guys think by clicking here and then going to the comments section.

I actually saw that post the day or two after she wrote it. I assumed you did, b/c of the round-about way I saw it. Someone did a technorati search of your blog to see who was linking and clicked through to mine. I followed the trail on my stat counter and then saw who else was linked to you and read that post.

Definitely thought it was wierd. I feel there is an unwritten code--had she posted only your photo and said, "This girl was cool" it would be one thing, but posting the photo and identifying you and linking to you, without giving you the head's up. I'm not a fan of that.

I would have, in your shoes, appreciated a "Oh, I'm sorry that made you feel uncomfortable, didn't cross my mind that it might." instead of what she wrote.

I thought your comment was rather restrained.

Good shabbos!

P.S. Looks like MItzvah Study is a go! Hooray!

Leahleh, you tech-savvy lady--- tell me if you ever stumble across anything more!

And, thank you to the two who made mention of this really odd situation. I don't know if you guys are friends of Ms. Miller's or what, but, in any case, thank you for stopping by with a heads-up.
